Apple Product Announcements – iPhone 14, Apple Watch 8, and More
Apple held its highly anticipated September Media Event yesterday, which featured product updates for the iPhone, and Apple Watch — but Apple held off announcing other new rumored product updates like iPads (anticipated in October).
I’m not going to cover all the details from yesterday’s event, but I will highlight the new iPhones, Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 2, and offers you should know about. Moving forward, I will spend time in future editions breaking down Apple’s new hardware, software, and other tidbits announced yesterday.
So let’s explore the new product updates, shall we…
Meet the New iPhone 14 LineUp
Apple announced four new iPhones Wednesday – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
New to the lineup is the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus to compliment the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, and removed from the lineup is the iPhone mini.
New design features of the iPhone Pro model include thinner borders, more active area, and a new Dynamic Island notch at the top of the screen.
The Dynamic Island Notch can morph into different shapes and sizes for things such as incoming phone calls, Face ID authentication, timers, turn-by-turn navigation, sports scores, and more.
Apple also included two new safety features in each of the four iPhone 14 models. Car Crash Detection automatically places a call to emergency services and emergency contacts when a crash is detected. Emergency SOS (via satellite) allows you to text for help when you have no cellular connectivity.
